Teen Boot Camp (TBC) is designed to be a rigorous theatre learning experience. It will be very challenging, quick paced, and demanding. One might describe it as a theatre class on steroids! If your teen has been aching to be a better actor, this intense program is the solution!
Every four years, we do a full production in 3 weeks! We have done Pippin (2017) and Urinetown (2021). In 2025, we did Little Shop of Horrors!
Summary:

Little Shop of Horrors is a delightfully twisted musical where doo-wop tunes meet deadly botany! It follows the lovably awkward florist, Seymour, who discovers a strange, mysterious plant that brings him fame and fortune and much more. As the plant grows, so do Seymour’s problems. With its blend of humor, heart, and retro flair, it’s a wildly entertaining ride from start to finish! Little Shop of Horrors was directed and choreographed by Toni Butler, with music direction by Erin Walker and Michelle Willis, accompanied by a live band directed by Michelle Willis.
Little Shop of Horrors performed August 6-16, 2025 to sold out audiences!
Director’s Note:
This marks my eighth visit to Skid Row — and I still adore Little Shop of Horrors! With its irresistibly catchy songs and unforgettable characters, it’s easy to get swept up in the fun. But beneath the humor and the music lies a powerful moral: How far would you go to get what you think you want? From our seats in the audience, we can see that Seymour already had everything he needed — he just couldn’t see it in himself: He was enough from the very beginning. And isn’t that something we witness all around us? If only people could see themselves through the eyes of those who care about them, they might love the beautiful person we see.
Directing this remarkable cast of talented teens has been a true joy. They were an ensemble of actors and a community of friends — bonded by their love of theatre, defined by kindness, and devoted to their craft. They held theirselves to high standards: They were prepared, punctual, and passionate. They worked hard and played hard. They are TBC!
It’s been an honor to guide this journey. Enjoy this weird, wonderful, and wildly fun trip to Skid Row! ~Toni Butler”

From our TBC Teens
TBC: Urinetown, 2021
I learned to see myself in a positive light; both as a performer and a person.
TBC is a place where you can seriously grow if you are brave enough to leave your comfort zone.
There is an atmosphere in TBC I have not felt to this level anywhere else. You know after a day that you are accepted, your are loved, and you are respected.
TBC is not easy but every year it is worth it. We gain experience and learn a ton!
TBC is a place where I go to make new friends and feel a part of a family. I grow so much every year from TBC!
TBC has a power to bring people together. Toni always says to get to know each other through our work and she is right. It’s one of the best ways to get together and become friends.
TBC helped me find an inner power I never knew about.
TBC has changed my life. Being a part of it has helped me find and love who I am. And helped me understand who I want to be. I love it!
TBC taught me to have fun, be respectful, and to act/sing/dance your heart out!
To me, TBC means breaking down barriers and creating strength!
TBC is what I look forward to most all year!
